Malachi's Birthday

Whew, turning 5 was tiring...for all of us!
Malachi woke up on his big day to some decorations and a few gifts from Mom and Dad. The theme was an obvious choice for our little Mario-lover!

I wonder if Elliott will like this bike as much when it's his hand-me-down?

After a quick breakfast we anxiously awaited all his friends who came to celebrate with him that morning. They had fun painting magnets, playing a couple of Mario-inspired games, eating pizza and cake and playing together.
After a few hours of down time, we geared up for party #2 - family dinner. Malachi's chosen menu was scrambled eggs, sausage, fried potatoes, cinnamon rolls and fruit. And then more presents...

Even Adeline got into the Mario spirit!

Thank you to all our family and friends who came out to celebrate with Malachi and make his birthday special. We love you all!

Head Stands

Not to be outdone by his little brother, here's a glimpse into Malachi's newest trick. His goal is to be able to walk on his hands like his Uncle Blaker. We'll see how long that one takes!

Little Daredevil

Well, so far Elliott has the title of Little Daredevil for this family. This is the newest way that he seems to entertain himself. Funny now, but not so much if the oven happens to open or I happen to be baking cakes!

Need more examples? The other day I found him climbing on top of the table. I didn't trust him there long enough to grab the camera and snap a picture! I may have to give in and buy some baby proofing gadgets. Ugh!

Chef Prego

Last week was Stockholder's - our church youth group's yearly fundraiser. The teens put on an original play, serve dinner and provide some extra entertainment. This year's theme was Mafia. The entertainment was a dunk tank where you could pay to dunk some pretty fun people (including Dad, who I can proudly say went under because of me!), the dinner was a delicious Italian spread by the Bell Tower and the show was a story about warring pasta sauce families - the Pregos and the Bertollis. Everyone is encouraged to dress to the theme and I must say our chefs did not disappoint. I wasn't able to get a picture of Chef Bertolli (Aunt Tweed) because she was too busy scurrying around making sure everything was ready, but here's a little peak at Chef Prego:

It was such a fun night and the teens, Nate (the youth minister) and Mary Allison (his wife) did a great job!

Poor Walker!

I hope he learns to move soon because his big cousin is pretty rough!
