Say Cheese!

I finally caught Jonas' sweet smile in a picture and thought it would brighten your day like it does mine!

One Month Stats

Oh, I'm so behind! Things have been so busy around here that I can't seem to find time to keep up with things on here. Jonas is now a little over one month old and is doing great. At his well visit last week he weighed 10lbs 12oz and was 23in long!
Jonas sleeps well and rarely cries. He's smiling a lot now, especially when his big brothers are nearby. I'm officially back to baking cakes and he likes hanging out in the kitchen with me while I work. Thank goodness he's content in his bouncy chair! He's no longer safe on the couch since Elliott likes to "play" too much and almost pulled him off the other day.

The big brothers are doing well too. Elliott seems to get jealous at times and has been a little more high maintenance than usual, but he loves kissing and hugging his little brother...sometimes too much. Malachi is a great helper and is very protective of Jonas. I can always count on him to keep me informed of what's happening.

We have a lot going on this week so I'll have plenty of new pictures and material for the blog...hopefully I'll take the time to get them up here so you all can keep up with us!

Giving Credit

I know many of you have already seen this, but I must give credit where credit is due. My amazingly talented sisters are responsible for the creation of Jonas' announcements. Kelsey took the picture and Megan did the layout and design. Seriously, I think they should both do this professionally because they turned out great!

Meg and Kels - thank you SO much for all the work you put into making Jonas' announcements special. I love the way they turned out and I'm already planning future projects for both of you!

Fall Festival of Leaves

This weekend was the Fall Festival of Leaves in Bainbridge and we definitely took full advantage this year. Erik had to work at the store all weekend, so the boys and I (along with help from GranMols and Aunt Meg) enjoyed walking around, eating festival food and riding rides. Malachi and Elliott had so much fun and were exhausted by Sunday afternoon. Jonas was a great baby, napping as I carried him around in his baby carrier the entire time.

This year we decided to get Malachi a ride bracelet that allowed him to ride as many times as he wanted. He loved it! I was amazed at how many of the big rides he is now tall enough to ride - and how brave he was as he rode them repeatedly all by himself!
As for Elliott, I was sure a bracelet would be a waste of money because there weren't that many rides that he's able to ride. I was wrong. He would have ridden the "tractorrrr" ride a hundred times. He loves cars and trucks (all "tractorrrs" to him) and he loved this ride. He cried every time it stopped!
All three boys were fans of the merry-go-round. Yes, even Jonas got to ride since I had to be on with Elliott!

I should also mention that Erik won the festival 5k on Saturday morning. Unfortunately I don't have a picture because I had to stay home with Elliott and Jonas, but Aunt Meg and Malachi were there cheering him on to victory for the second year in a row!

3 Weeks!

I can't believe it's already been three weeks (plus a couple days) since Jonas joined our family! It's amazing to see the many changes in just 21 days:

One week old: Jonas was definitely awake more than the other two boys at this age, but still he pretty much ate and slept for the majority of the first week. Two weeks old: Jonas was awake more this week and started to get more consistent with his eating/sleeping patterns. He's getting used to living with lots of noise thanks to his big brothers! When I was taking this picture I asked him to smile for me and this is what I got. I know, it's probably not a "real" smile, but it made this mommy happy anyways!

Three weeks old: This week we've really gotten into our routine, which means that Jonas has had to get used to going places! We've been to school to pick up Malachi, to soccer practice, to Mommy and Me, to the park, to the doctor's office, to the grocery store, to church...and I'm sure many other places I've forgotten! Jonas is eating and sleeping great - he's even given us a couple of 6 hour stretches at night! He's also starting to focus a little more on the activity around him, especially when his brothers get in his face to talk to him and "share" toys.
It's funny how three weeks can fly by so quickly yet at the same time it feels like Jonas has been a part of our family forever. It's been a bit of an adjustment (and we've REALLY appreciated all the help from family and friends), but I think we're figuring out what our new normal looks like - and I wouldn't change a thing!

Daily Entertainment

Lots of people have been asking how Malachi and Elliott are adjusting to having a new baby around. I think it's safe to say that they are doing great and love being big brothers. Elliott likes to hold Jonas and kiss on him as often as I will allow and Malachi is good to protect Jonas from Elliott when necessary - which can be quite often!Malachi participated in Spirit Week at school a couple weeks ago. Here he is on "Crazy Day."

Elliott makes sure he gets his fair share of attention while Malachi is at school all day:

Yaya and 'Buelo Meet Jonas

Yaya and 'Buelo couldn't pass up the chance to meet their fifth grandchild, and we were SO happy to have them visit for the weekend. Jonas loved snuggling in their arms and his big brothers loved reading and playing with them while they were here.

Becky and Kevin - thank you SO much for all your help while we began our transition to a family of 5! It was nice to not have to worry about entertaining kids, doing laundry, cooking, etc. for a few days. We can't wait for your next visit!
