Busy Week

This past week we had vacation bible school each evening at church. It makes the week extremely long and tiring, but it's definitely worth it when the kids talk about how much fun they're having and when they can't stop singing the songs they're learning. This year the offering the kids brought in will be sent to help kids in India. Malachi was very excited to pull out his piggy bank and count out some change. The other highlight of the week for Malachi was that his friend, Carson, was able to come to VBS with him each night. We ended the week with a sleepover full of Legos, Star Wars, swimming and video games and then a movie night in the park with other friends from church and the community. I was glad to wake up this morning with nothing on the schedule for the weekend after such a crazy week!

Family Day

Our boys look so forward to Erik's days off and we were excited to be able to do something extra fun with them yesterday. Because of an appointment in Columbus, we decided to take them to play putt-putt. I think they all had a great time and Elliott even got his first hole-in-one!

Growing Up

My boys are growing up. We have been going nonstop lately and I'm tired. A couple days ago I was able to sleep in a little and when I woke up I found that Malachi had helped Jonas get out of bed. When I came out of my room I found a mess in the kitchen...because Malachi had also fixed himself and Jonas breakfast! Toast with jelly for himself and Nutella for Jonas, bowls of cereal and cups of milk to drink. Needless to say, the mess in my kitchen was worth a few more minutes of peace and quiet!

Wedding Bells

Congrats to my cousin, Maggie, and her new husband, Nathan! It was hot, but the day was beautiful and we all had lots of fun. Elliott was the ring "bear"er and made everyone laugh by growling as he walked down the aisle. The reception was at Grandma Litter's house and we all enjoyed the food and dancing. Maggie and Nathan - thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special day. We love you guys and wish you many years of blessings and happiness!

Too Big, Too Fast

Our littlest guy is growing up fast and is convinced he's as big as his brothers and can do everything they can...plus some! This is what I found the other day when I forgot to close the door to our bathroom:
Thank goodness he didn't know how to plug it in or turn it on. That could have been a very interesting first haircut!

Father's Day

We are so blessed to be able to celebrate special dads in our families, and we had a wonderful Father's Day together. After church we enjoyed a cookout at Mike and Kelsey's. There was lots of playing (including jumping off the 6 foot playset platform), an announcement of a new addition to the family coming in January (congrats to the Thrones!) and a new friend introduced (glad we finally got to meet him, Meg). After lunch Erik and the two big boys went to the movies together while I ran a few errands and shopped a bit. Who knew I'd get to have such a fun day, too?! We came home and Erik was able to take a long bike ride before enjoying the rest of the evening together. I am so very thankful to have such a wonderful little family and to share it with such an amazing dad to our boys!

Splash Fun

The weather has been gorgeous the past few days and we took advantage of that today by spending the afternoon at the park with friends. This park has a splash pad that the older kids loved...Jonas wasn't a fan.

First Pool Trip

Last night we took advantage of an evening without plans and the hot weather and made a trip up the road to the Knisley's pool. It took Elliott and Jonas a while to get confident in the water, but no one wanted to leave when it was time to go!

Last Week's News

Last week we didn't have a lot on the agenda so I was able to get quite a few things done around the house. Unfortunately that means I didn't take as many pictures of the fun things that happened! I did get all the windows washed (which has been on my to-do list for a LONG time), I began a large sewing project and Erik started moving dirt to fill in space around our newly paved driveway. The boys are loving the big pile of dirt to play on!
Malachi had day camp for Cub Scouts each day. It was a long and tiring week for him, but he definitely had lots of fun and learned a few things too. We picked him up on Friday evening and got to see a short program and have dinner at the camp.

Yesterday we celebrated Adeline's 4th birthday and Oliver's 2nd birthday. It was a fun evening of playing, pizza and cake.

No Cavities!

Last week Malachi, Elliott and I had our dental checkup. Elliott was so excited all day that he actually cried when I made him take a nap because he thought he would miss his appointment! The boys both did great and I'm happy to report there were no cavities. You can tell by the pictures how much fun Elliott had!
