Dentist Visits

Malachi had a dentist appointment this week to get sealants on his 6-year molars. All morning Elliott whined that he couldn't have an appointment too and how it wasn't fair. When I told him I was sorry he responded that he would just talk to Miss Jill (our hygienist) and she would take care of him. Well, he was right! When we went and he asked if he could have an appointment too, she told him that he could if he could be her helper while she was working on Malachi. He helped by handing her the utensils she needed and in return he was able to get a complimentary sealant on one of his teeth! Maybe we'll have a dentist in the family someday!

Weekend Fun

As always our weekend was full of fun. We began by celebrating GranMols' birthday on Saturday morning with a breakfast picnic...that had to be moved indoors because of rain. We spent time with friends, delivered a wedding cake, played games, went to church and took a few naps and then finished the weekend with a trip to Columbus to watch a Clippers game with lots of friends from church.

Zoo Day

Yesterday the boys and I went on an adventure to the zoo with our friends Lindsay and Adelyn. The weather was absolutely perfect and everyone agreed that the day was awesome! After seeing their excitement at each exhibit I can't wait to go back again...hopefully soon!

Space Derby

Malachi's Cub Scout pack had their space derby today. The boys all built rockets from a kit and then raced them on a zip line cord by winding a rubber band motor attached to a propeller. Malachi was very excited to come in 3rd place overall and win first for best of show!

Missing the Brothers

Jonas is missing his big brothers who got to stay in Tennessee a few extra days with Yaya and 'Buelo. We visited Erik at work and Jonas couldn't stop going to the calendar that has a picture of Malachi and pointing at it saying, "brother!"
He's also gotten kinda used to being the center of attention around here and getting away with some things not normally allowed...like playing with the water in the kitchen sink for about a half hour while I fixed dinner! We've also gone swimming and played in the water outside. It's too hot for much of anything else! Tomorrow we get the big boys back. Pray for sanity while we drive...the drive to Tennessee was anything but pleasant with our littlest guy!

Vacation at the Lake

We got back yesterday from our mini-vacation to visit Yaya and 'Buelo at the lake. In spite of some dreary weather, we had a great time. We got some lake time in, enjoyed a hike through the neighborhood, picked wild raspberries, relaxed and played a lot. Erik and I were able to have a date one night to Abingdon, VA, for dinner and a play. Uncle Bruce, Erik and I also ran the Crazy8's 8k on Saturday night in Kingsport, TN. After church and lunch yesterday we headed home with only one kid...Malachi and Elliott get to continue the fun until Friday (Jonas is still too young, poor guy)! What a wonderful week with family!

Hanging with the Grammies

Lately we've been asking Grammy Jane to go along on our trips to the Mennonite general store and bakery. I think she enjoys the craziness and the chance to get out and get her groceries. This week we also visited Grammy Litter and took some yummy pretzel sandwiches to share for lunch. I loved seeing Elliott and Adeline ringing the dinner bell just like we always did so many years ago!

Happy 4th!

We celebrated the 4th in our usual style with the Knisley's fireworks and cookout. This year they added a giant slip-n-slide on their front hill that was a hit with the kids and some of the grown-ups alike! Malachi was the only one of our family brave enough to give it a try. Elliott stuck to riding bikes and swimming in the pool. Jonas pretty much just hung out with anyone who would give him a chocolate covered pretzel and then had fun with the sparklers. Once the fireworks started he was hysterical and had to go inside with GranMols! Thank you, Knisley family, for having us again this year. The company, food and fireworks were fantastic as always and we all had a great time!

Wax Paper Slide

This is forever one of my favorite childhood memories, the wax paper slide. I love seeing my boys have as much fun as I remember having on it!

New Tricks

This is how I've found Jonas a few times when I've gone up to get him out of bed. I think we're getting close to needing to switch him to a toddler bed!
