Easter Eggs

GranMols and Papaw hosted an Easter egg coloring party this year. We had lots of cousins and friends, lots of eggs and dyes, beautiful weather and lots of fun. What better way to spend a Saturday evening?!

No More Tonsils!

Erik has always had problems with his tonsils getting infected and when he got sick after coming home from Europe he knew right away that it was going to be bad. After two trips to the ER, two CT scans, lots of bloodwork and pain meds, he ended up having an emergency tonsillectomy on a Monday morning. It was a very painful and difficult recovery for about ten days, but thankfully he had some cute little guys trying to cheer him up and he's finally feeling back to normal!

Happy Birthday, Malachi!

We hit the ground running when we came back from our European adventures! The first day we were home was Malachi's 8th birthday. We celebrated with presents and a special breakfast before school and dinner with family at the Japanese steak house that night. The next evening was Malachi's Cub Scout banquet in which he earned his Wolf ranking. On Friday we had Malachi's birthday party with lots of friends, pizza, cake, presents and games. We topped the night off with a sleepover and a houseful of boys. It was a whirlwind crazy week, but so much fun to be able to celebrate special times with our family!

Allsop Adventure, Rome

The last two days of our trip were spent in Rome. Our hotel was not as conveniently located in Rome and the transportation was much more difficult there than in the other cities, but after we embraced getting turned around and lost we were fine! We visited the Roman ruins on Sunday and Vatican City on Monday. I enjoyed the ruins, especially the Forum, much more than I anticipated. We were both completely amazed by St. Peter's and thoroughly enjoyed the Vatican. The weather was much cooler and we had to dodge a few rain showers, but we were still able to walk all over the city, eat some delicious food and see everything we wanted to see.

A HUGE thank you to our parents for taking such wonderful care of our boys while we were gone! Knowing that they were in good hands and having fun allowed us to relax and enjoy every moment. It was an amazing trip and we are so thankful for the time we had together and the places we were able to see. Hopefully we won't have to wait another 10 years for our next adventure!

Allsop Adventure, Paris

Paris was a whirlwind! We had exactly 48 hours from when our plane landed until the next one took off and we made the most of it. We walked all over, learned what French foods not to order (foie gras), saw some art and as many sights as possible, wandered through various neighborhoods, shopped on the Champs-Élysées, ate some delicious crepes, rode the metro and took lots of pictures. Here are some of the highlights:
