Malachi's Tree

For Malachi's 4th birthday Grammy Litter and Aunt Laura gave him a cherry tree. He liked helping us plant it, but I don't think he realized that actual cherries would grow on it...until we noticed blossoms this spring. Now every time we're outside he has to run out and check on it! So far he's been able to pick and eat about 25 cherries or so!

My Boys

I love watching my boys with their daddy. They adore him and are so lucky to have such an amazing dad. The other night Erik planned a special time with Malachi, complete with a late bedtime, catching fireflies, a movie and popcorn and sleeping in Malachi's room on the top bunk!
Elliott's still a little too young to enjoy a night like that, but you should hear the way he yells whenever he spots his daddy coming home from work! I love how excited he gets! Happy Father's Day, Erik! Thank you for being the perfect daddy to our boys and making my job as mommy so much fun. We love you!

The New Doctor

What can 4 years in vet school and lots of hard work get you? This:

The billboard is pretty funny how they just added Blake's head, but seriously we are so proud of his accomplishment. As of this past weekend it's official - he's Dr. Blake Edward Lloyd! A huge congrats to him, Kimberly, Adeline and Oliver! We are also so excited that he accepted a job in Chillicothe which means that they will be close and we can spend lots of time together. Best of luck, Blaker, in all you do. We know you're already a fabulous vet and hope you enjoy your new job!

Future T-ball Players

Elliott loves going to his big brother's T-ball games, especially when I allow him to venture into the dugout. He and Adeline really like trying on the batting helmets!

Sad Day

Last weekend was a weekend that I've been dreading for the past couple months. It was our pastor's last Sunday at church, but more importantly it was the last weekend our best friends lived close enough to hang out often. Andrew, Heather, Corinne and Cooper left this morning to move to Georgia where Andrew will be working at 12Stone Church in Gwinnett County. Our church had a farewell reception for them yesterday evening. Andrew is a little bit obsessed with Chipotle, so any event for him would have been incomplete without some mention of his favorite food! No, it was not burrito flavored! We've spent lots of time together over the past (almost) 4 years and I'm gonna miss seeing these two kiddos grow up!Malachi and Corinne have had some differences of opinion during their friendship, but last week they played so well together all day long. Go figure!Elliott and Cooper are two peas in a pod. Their vocabulary is even surprisingly similar!Andrew and Heather - we are truly excited for you and all that God has in store for your future, but we will miss you terribly! Thank you for being such awesome friends. We love you!

Memorial Day Fly-In

We all had a great time checking out the airplanes at the annual Memorial Day Fly-In at Haas Airport. This is one of my favorite traditions, especially now that I can see how excited my little guys get watching the planes. Hopefully someday soon they'll be lucky enough to get a ride in one of them!

Adeline was with us since her new brother was still waiting to come home from the hospital.
I think it's safe to say she enjoyed herself!

This is the look we got when it was time to get out of the plane!

Future pilot?
Malachi's favorite plane:

My handsome boys:

Adeline and Elliott are a handful!

Grammy Jane with Elliott:
I'm telling you, these two are trouble! (Although GranMols was watching them while this was happening!)

Memorial Day Fun

We were lucky enough to slow down a little last weekend and enjoy some time with Yaya and 'Buelo. We began by visiting the Paint Creek dam to show them how high the water has been recently and then had a picnic and played on the playground. Our plans for Sunday changed because of this little guy's arrival. Isn't he sweet? On Monday we spent the morning at Haas Airport for the annual Fly-In. I have lots of pictures from our time there so I'll do another post with them tomorrow. Before Kevin and Becky started home, the guys ran in the Scott Porter Memorial 5k in Waverly. It was hot and they were a little crazy to punish themselves by running 3.1 miles, but they both did a great job.

Malachi stayed cool in the water while we waited on our runners.Erik won 2nd place overall and earned a huge trophy and a gift certificate!

Yep, we live in the country!

And this week we learned that this is how to dress if you need to clean up the remains of a wild animal that was stuck in your basement!
That's right, Erik discovered a raccoon that was stuck in the top of the wall in our basement. I guess if it's not water it's something else! He was unable to dislodge it himself and had to call on Dad who came with a shotgun to take care of our problem. Then Erik was just left to clean up the mess. Thankfully I didn't know anything about the whole ordeal until it was out of our house!
