We celebrated the 4th in our usual style with the Knisley's fireworks and cookout. This year they added a giant slip-n-slide on their front hill that was a hit with the kids and some of the grown-ups alike! Malachi was the only one of our family brave enough to give it a try. Elliott stuck to riding bikes and swimming in the pool. Jonas pretty much just hung out with anyone who would give him a chocolate covered pretzel and then had fun with the sparklers. Once the fireworks started he was hysterical and had to go inside with GranMols! Thank you, Knisley family, for having us again this year. The company, food and fireworks were fantastic as always and we all had a great time!

Wax Paper Slide
This is forever one of my favorite childhood memories, the wax paper slide. I love seeing my boys have as much fun as I remember having on it!

New Tricks
This is how I've found Jonas a few times when I've gone up to get him out of bed. I think we're getting close to needing to switch him to a toddler bed!

Busy Week
This past week we had vacation bible school each evening at church. It makes the week extremely long and tiring, but it's definitely worth it when the kids talk about how much fun they're having and when they can't stop singing the songs they're learning. This year the offering the kids brought in will be sent to help kids in India. Malachi was very excited to pull out his piggy bank and count out some change. The other highlight of the week for Malachi was that his friend, Carson, was able to come to VBS with him each night. We ended the week with a sleepover full of Legos, Star Wars, swimming and video games and then a movie night in the park with other friends from church and the community. I was glad to wake up this morning with nothing on the schedule for the weekend after such a crazy week!

Family Day
Our boys look so forward to Erik's days off and we were excited to be able to do something extra fun with them yesterday. Because of an appointment in Columbus, we decided to take them to play putt-putt. I think they all had a great time and Elliott even got his first hole-in-one!

Growing Up
My boys are growing up. We have been going nonstop lately and I'm tired. A couple days ago I was able to sleep in a little and when I woke up I found that Malachi had helped Jonas get out of bed. When I came out of my room I found a mess in the kitchen...because Malachi had also fixed himself and Jonas breakfast! Toast with jelly for himself and Nutella for Jonas, bowls of cereal and cups of milk to drink. Needless to say, the mess in my kitchen was worth a few more minutes of peace and quiet!
