Cub Scouts Raingutter Regatta Derby

Last week Malachi's cub scouts had a Raingutter Regatta Derby. The boys all constructed (from a kit) and decorated a sailboat that they raced in raingutter tracks by blowing on the sails. We had the derby at Seip Mound and it was extremely windy that evening so it was difficult to have any "fair" races, but the boys still seemed to have fun. Malachi unfortunately only raced twice since he lost both of his heats. Poor kid! After the race the boys hiked to the top of Seip Mound, a Native American burial mound, and got to play a bit rolling down the side.
Malachi insists on making crazy faces for most of his pictures these days. Oh well.
