Easter Eggs

All three of the boys were very interested in coloring Easter eggs this year. Luckily the weather cooperated and we were able to do it outside on the blacktop at GranMols' and Papaw's house. Malachi and Elliott had to work quickly to save eggs from Walker (who really liked throwing them and watching them bust open more than coloring them) and Jonas worked on one egg the whole time...well, except for the part when he tried to eat the dye! They all had blue hands and Jonas had a blue chin by the time we finished, but thankfully it washed off during bath time so we didn't have to go to church like that!

Last Birthday Present

Malachi's final birthday present was a trip to the Cincinnati kids' museum. We invited his friend, Carson, and Elliott's friend, Cooper, to come along to make the trip even more special. The boys had a great time playing, exploring and learning new things in a fun environment.

Here's the group patiently awaiting lunch.
Malachi and Carson were excited to have some freedom to explore on their own a bit...you know, because they're 7 years old now!
Cooper had fun driving the bus.
 Elliott liked the construction area.
Jonas did his best to keep up with the big kids all day!

Catch Up!

I haven't been keeping up with the blog very well for a couple reasons. 1 - I can't figure out some of the features on the iPad and we don't usually keep our laptop out anymore. 2 - We have just been WAY too busy lately! So, while the laptop is out, I thought I'd post a big entry with lots of pictures of what we've been up to lately!

The boys have loved being able to visit Daddy at the store and take rides around on the hand cart.
Some days we have to spend the morning playing in a bubble bath for a change of pace.
Other days they play with their "instruments" while I'm busy baking. It gets pretty loud at times!
When they don't get along this is the time out spot. Jonas likes keeping Elliott company whenever he's stuck here.
Malachi built a pinewood derby car for Cub Scouts.
Adeline and Elliott got to come cheer for Malachi's bus at the race.
His bus won a couple heats but didn't place overall. However, he did win 2nd place best of show!
Elliott is still crazy and silly as ever.
Elliott and Kylee have been getting along very well lately and currently love playing super heroes. Poor Jonas and Bryson are always the monsters they have to fight!
Sometimes we have a full house and lunchtime is the only time it's close to calm and quiet.
Jonas loves to climb on EVERYTHING! My cakes are very carefully guarded nowadays!
I was blessed to experience the birth of my friend, Christina's, new little guy, Silas Edward.
Homework, projects, spelling words and math facts keep us busy every afternoon.
Malachi officially earned his tiger scout badge.
Jonas is busy learning lots of new things, specifically how to be an Allsop boy!
Many apologies to those of you who look forward to our posts! I hope this catches you up on our lives and I'll try to do a better job of keeping up over the next few months...which are sure to be as busy as the past few!

Happy 7th Birthday!

Here's our 7 year old!
We have had quite an exciting couple of days celebrating Malachi's 7th birthday. We began on Saturday with a Texas A&M themed birthday party.
His Ohio cousins and lots of friends joined us to celebrate.
He received lots of Legos and exclaimed how surprised he was that everyone knew how much he likes Legos and Star Wars. Really?!!
Today I took cupcakes in to his class at the end of the day. He was crazy and excited...as were all his classmates!
After school he wasted no time finishing homework so he could get to building his newest Lego set!
And tonight we finished up our celebrations with dinner at the Japanese steakhouse!
We are so thankful this crazy 7 year old boy is ours! Malachi is smart, creative, imaginative, curious and fun. He loves Legos, Star Wars, video games, playing spies, building forts, reading, painting and doing science experiments. He has trouble focusing on chores and homework, doesn't like to sleep and is incredibly scatterbrained at times. He gets really proud of himself when he accomplishes a new task, such as tying shoes which he finally learned yesterday. Malachi is a great big brother and loves Elliott and Jonas more than anything. He made us parents and we're figuring out all that that means as we grow with him. Happy birthday, Malachi, we love you so much and hope you always know how special you are!

Science Experiments

Malachi has been really into science lately so last night we decided to do a couple experiments. Malachi created a volcano with Play-Doh and the boys loved filling it up with baking soda and food coloring and then pouring in some vinegar to watch it explode!
I need to do some research on Pinterest now so I'll have other easy and fun experiments (and the necessary supplies) ready!

100 Days Smarter

Today was Malachi's 100th day of first grade. Thanks to GranMolsand Erik I was able to spend the morning at school with him celebrating and having fun!
